Former Nickelodeon actor Tylor Chase has been admitted to a hospital for a 72-hour detox program following intervention efforts by social media influencer Jacob “Jake” Harris.
Harris, known for helping individuals struggling with addiction, was contacted by Chase’s father, Joseph Mendez Jr., to assist the Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide star. After coordinating with a crisis center for a same-day evaluation, Chase was taken to a local hospital for immediate treatment.
“We finally got Tylor the help he needed,” Harris shared on Instagram. “He’s currently receiving medical attention to get him healthy, to get him all better.”
Chase has faced ongoing battles with addiction, stemming from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, according to his father. While Mendez successfully enrolled his son in a Georgia rehabilitation facility in 2021, Chase left the program and returned to substance use before relocating to California.

Harris was motivated to help after former Mighty Ducks actor Shaun Weiss—whom Harris had previously assisted with similar struggles—saw a viral TikTok video showing Chase being recognized by a fan in Riverside, California.
During the intervention, Harris spent over an hour speaking with Chase while family and friends encouraged him to accept treatment. Though Chase initially resisted, telling Harris “I like my life the way it is,” he eventually became receptive to the idea of detox and treatment.
Weiss expressed optimism about the outcome, noting that establishing trust with someone in Chase’s condition requires patience and care.
Chase’s next steps following his hospital stay remain unclear, but Harris maintains that “the future is looking bright” now that the former child star is receiving professional care.
